What is Yap®?

A service for your mobile phone that allows you to: instantly send text messages...just by talking! Why did we create this? Did you know that over 66% of teens text while driving? Yap9™, our own very lightweight voice to text client, connects to Yap's advanced server platform where we do all of the speech recognition magic. One day (soon) you'll be voice texting all your friends without hurting yourself because of your cell's tiny keypad. Beyond that, you'll be able to talk to the web to get instant results while you're mobile. Please register and we'll let you know as soon as it's available for your carrier/device. Thanks!

Yap selected as North Carolina's Early Stage Company of the Year!

We are extremely humbled by this award, especially since we were considered peers of ChannelAdvisor and Epic Games, creators of Xbox360's smash hit Gears of War!

When you add this to the recognition at Silicon Valley's Under the Radar | Mobility event in the same week (we won in the Voice Services category), you're certainly raising quite a high bar for us. We hear you loud and clear; we're working as hard as we can to get this to market as fast as possible and in many different formats. Stay tuned!

Travel Demo

An example of using the Yap9 client for text messaging, injecting relevant ads within the stream (Starbucks in this case), getting travel info from Orbitz, weather results from Yahoo!, and location based services from Google. It's designed to be hyper efficient on low end devices and connects to the high powered Yap platform for remote speech recognition. (Please excuse our poor voice acting!)

Yap's a finalist at the TechCrunch40 event!

We are thrilled and honored to have been selected a finalist in Silicon Valley's hottest conference of the year, especially given that over 750+ companies from 26+ countries were in the running. We now also have a CrunchBase profile online. More details coming soon, but early reactions are positive! We'll try to post the demo video as soon as the TechCrunch team has it. But for now, you may signup to our newsletter for updates. Thanks!
